Lubricants
T/CCI's Model 210/209/206 R134a compressors are compatible with either POE (Ester) oil or PAG oil.

All new T/CCI air-conditioning compressors are equipped with a full charge of lubricant. All models are currently factory equipped with a Double End-Capped PAG.

Note: POE oil has been used in the past and mixing of the lubricants is acceptable and will not void the warranty of the T/CCI compressor.

Mixing POE and PAG lubricants will not damage the rugged T/CCI design. Testing has been conducted at 90%/10%, 75%/25%, 50%/50%, 25%/75%, and 10%/90% mixtures of POE and PAG lubricants. While we are not encouraging the use of two lubricants, we wish to provide you with the assurance that this will not cause a problem with these two-cylinder compressors.

History of lubricants in T/CCI compressors: T/CCI's R134a compressors built prior to 1995 were produced with an ISO68 viscosity PAG oil. This oil was also bottled in 14 ounce containers and was sold as Retro-Fix PAG lubricant. In 1995, T/CCI's R134a compressors were produced with an ISO68 POE oil. This lubricant was also bottled in 14 ounce containers and marketed as Retro-Fix II POE oil. Effective July 2002, our Slimline/Mini StatoSeal compressors (ES210L models) were switched to a new ISO 100 double end-capped PAG oil. In April 2003, the Original Equipment models of our ET210L Tube-O models sold to Freightliner and Western Star were also introduced with this new PAG lubricant. Starting in May 2008, all T/CCI compressors are filled with a Double End-Capped PAG lubricant. This includes the popular aftermarket ET210L compressors.

All T/CCI compressors are shipped with a full charge of lubricant. Should you ever need to add oil when servicing our air-conditioning compressors or the a/c system, please note that all commercially available PAG or POE lubricants between a viscosity range of ISO68 and ISO150 are acceptable. Compressors used for refrigeration can use a low 46 viscosity oil if preferred.

T/CCI markets PAG oil in bottles as part number PAG-25490 and our Retro-Fix II POE oil is sold in 14 ounce bottles as Ester-25065.
